Secret Key - Functionality

The Secret Key - Functionality is an optional setting, which enables the customer to view its own inquiries with restricted permissions. As this is no default setting, an additional role has to be created by an administrator in order to use this function.

A small modification, that offers your customer a good flow of information.

1.) First of all a new role with specific rights (see screenshot below) has to be created. For further information see Role Administration.

2.) After this set up a new user account and assign the newly created role.

3.) The appropriate username will be recorded in the “web application config” under “<appSettings>“.

4.) Finally an email template has to be created which contains the link that enables the customer to access the incident.

Client Dependence since Version 5.3

Since Version 5.3. the Secret Key User has been dependent on the client. This means that you can only access with a secret key, if the user is assigned to the same client as the corresponding incident, that you are trying to review. The system will automatically try to assign the appropriate role to the user, if this fails an error message will appear.
