====== Configuration Management Database====== [[en:cmdb:about]] You can administrate your customers and machines under the menu point master data. {{:cmdb:menumasterdata.jpg|}} Machines can either be the so called Configuration Items (in classical It service) or the so called Installed Base(in machine and plant engineering) . Products (machines or hard-/software from type XYZ) or attributes of a customer product (machine or hard-/software from the type XYZ with the serial number 239348) can either be administrated in the Installed Base (Technology-Items) or be displayed in the Configuration Managed Database (IT-Items). ===== Find Configuration Items ===== Select the menu point master data and click on My CMDB: {{:cmdb:menucis.jpg|}} ==== Search for Configuration Items ==== You are automatically in the search display: Please fill out the search form: {{:cmdb:searchci.jpg|}} Typical search criteria are f.e. name, type or description of the Configuration Items. If you want to you can additionally select the option [[cmdb:about|Only Top Level CI's]]. In addition to that you can also search for all customer attributes. Select with the help of the search function exactly the Configuration Item that you would like[[cmdb:edit|process]]. ==== Select a Configuration Item in a hierarchy ==== Click on Browse and follow the hierarchical ordered Configuration Item tree until you found the CI that you were looking for : {{:cmdb:browseci.jpg|}} ===== Find Customer-Configuration-Items ===== You can also draw on CIs and Ci attributes as search criteria for your customer search: {{:cmdb:usercisearch.jpg|}} You can see all customer configuration items in the [[customer:start#kundencockpit|customer cockpit]].
